Stonefish

*This animal is temporarily off exhibit. These fish tend to be black, brown, or yellow in color, and they often camouflage themselves to look like rocks or pieces of coral on the seabed. They can be very hard to spot, and even veteran divers can end up stepping on them by mistake. The spines on their dorsal fins contain a powerful poison. Their stings are incredibly painful and can be life-threatening.
