The blacktip reef shark is one of the smaller species of shark, growing only up to 1.6 m in length. They are easily identifiable by the black tips on their dorsal, anal, and tail fins. They can be found in shallow ocean waters up to 30 m in depth and prey upon fish, crustaceans, and molluscs.
