Juveniles and adults of this species differ significantly in appearance. Juveniles have blue bodies with white spiral patterns while adults have dozens of yellow lines stretching from head to tail. While transitioning from juvenile to adult, these patterns will appear to mix together. It takes about two years for them to fully mature.
