Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all the guests, please respect the aquarium rules.

General Rules

  • There are some dim areas at the Aquarium, for your safety, please do not use smartphone while walking.

  • Operation hours subject to change or closure without prior notice or liability.

  • Please beware when walking on slopes or stairs.

  • For security reasons, surveillance cameras are used at the Aquarium.

  • Members of anti-social force or related parties are not allowed to enter the Aquarium.

Telephone Etiquette

  • Please do not talk on your phone in a place where may cause obstruction.

Children

  • Please supervise your children at all times, especially at areas that allow you to stay with animals at close distance.

  • Children aged below 6 must be accompanied by a guardian.

  • Please mind your personal belongings and do not leave them in the strollers or seats. We shall be under no liability or responsibility for any loss of any kind or any damage to any property of any person at the Aquarium.

  • For safety reasons, wearing shoes with built-in wheels is prohibited at the Aquarium. If any person wears such kind of shoes like heelys, we reserve the right to request a person to take out the wheels before entering the Aquarium.

    If any person wears shoes with built-in wheels and causes an accident, we shall be under no liability or responsibility for any loss of any kind or any damage to any property of any person at the Aquarium.

Exhibits

  • For the well-being of the animals, please do not feed animals with unapproved food.

  • To ensure a safe habitat for animals, please do not tap on the tanks or the exhibits.

  • Please follow the instructions given by our staff when encountering with the animals.

  • Please do not take the animals out of the exhibits, or attempt to hurt the animals.

  • Defacement or destruction of the exhibits is prohibited. Please keep your hands out of the exhibits (with the exception of touch pool) and do not throw things into the exhibits.

Photography / Video

  • We may photograph, film, videotape, record or otherwise reproduce the image and voice of any person who enters the Aquarium and use the same for any purpose, including but not limited to media report, advertisement, promotion, product manufacturing. We also reserve the right to close any exhibit for video recording or photography.

  • For the comfort of all guests, the following activities are not allowed:

    • Use of flash.
    • Photography, videotaping, recording of closed or restricted areas, including but not limited to areas that are under construction or refurbishment.
    • Photography, videotaping, recording for commercial use or violation of copyright.
    • Request for shooting of a variety of people that may be offensive or may threaten the safety or security of other guests.
  • We reserve the right to require a person to stop specific activity for unsafe, disruptive or offensive behavior, or destruction of the facility, to ensure safety, security or order, or if we consider that the circumstances so require.

  • We shall not be liable for any dispute between guests regarding to portrait right due to publishing recorded materials by any guest.

Prohibited Items

The following items may not be brought into the Aquarium:

  • Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs including guide dogs, hearing assistance dogs or service dogs)

  • Large luggage including but not limited to bags with the size similar to suit cases, carts or wheeled carriers (no matter for transportation of goods or people).

  • Outside food and beverages, including but not limited to lunchboxes or alcoholic beverages.

    However, bringing baby food is allowed.Eating or drinking is allowed in café on the first floor.If you have any needs regarding food allergies, medical or religious requirements, please ask our staff for help.
  • Transceivers, unmanned aerial vehicles (like drones) or remote-controlled flying devices. Use of any flying device within the Aquarium is a violation of Japan's Civil Aeronautics Act.

  • Dangerous or hazardous materials like weapons of any kind, guns, knives, rifles, model guns, airsoft guns, handcuffs, water guns, sprayers (including objects that may give the appearance or impression of being dangerous or hazardous materials).

  • Dangerous materials including tear gases and stun guns.

  • Flammable liquids (including explosive, pyrophoric substances and substances that may release poisonous gases), explosives, flammable substances, compressed gases or poisonous substances.

  • Radioactive materials or other hazardous materials.

  • Items that are generally defined as dangerous materials or items that may threaten the safety or security of other guests.

    Except products selling at the Aquarium.
  • Flags, portable microphones and speakers, or whistles

  • Balloons (It may fall into the animal habitats and this can be very dangerous to the animals.)

  • Any other items that may be offensive or may threaten the safety or security of other guests.

Behavior

The following activities and behaviors are not allowed at the Aquarium:

  • Sale of goods or services or the display of goods or services for sale.

  • Distribution of materials of any kind, including but not limited to leaflets.

  • Unauthorized public gatherings or speeches.

  • Running.

  • Smoking.

    According to the law in Japan, smoking or drinking alcohol is prohibited for anyone aged below 20. (We reserve the right to request for your valid proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages.)
  • Visiting in a heavily intoxicated state.

  • Climbing or hanging on fences or decorations.

  • Sitting on stairs, floor or handrails.

  • Making noise.

  • Littering.

  • Bumping into, pushing or moving ahead of others in the queue, or other actions that may be offensive or may threaten the safety or security of other guests in the queue.

  • Feeding or touching the animals without permission or outside approved areas.

  • Impeding the operation of the Aquarium.

  • Wearing special costumes.

  • Wearing shabby or inappropriate attire.

  • Unauthorized events or gatherings.

  • Photography, videotaping, recording of any kind for commercial purposes or holding photography event.

  • Unauthorized activities for commercial purposes.

    We reserve the right to deny admission, or to require a person already admitted to leave the Aquarium that we consider have inappropriate behaviors without compensation or liability.
  • To ensure safety and order, we reserve the right to deny admission, or to require a person already admitted to leave the Aquarium without compensation or liability, for failure to comply with any of the rules in the code of conduct, or for offensive behavior.

  • DMM Kariyushi Aquarium (Operating company: DMM RESORTS Co., Ltd.) shall be under no liability or responsibility for any injury, loss of any kind or any damage to any property of any person due to negligence of any person, with the exception of situations specified in Japan's law.
